We are an Extremely busy, full service Collision Center that is looking for a highly qualified Body repair technician. Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience, some I-Car training-the more the better. I-Car welding certifications for metal and aluminum preferred, if not, it will be required to complete and pass all welding certifications in the near future. Technician must own a thorough set of collision repair tools and must be able to perform top quality metal and aluminum repairs and metal and aluminum welding. We offer 701 union benefits. We have had a Collision Center and have been a well established organization for over 40 years.  Also, we have been an I-CAR Gold Class shop since 1999.

 

What are the day-to-day responsibilities

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
  • Communicates with Body Shop office to obtain supplemental issues as needed
  • Examines the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
  • Perform all body and fender repairs according to estimate
  • Perform welding, body alignment, and corrosion protection operations
  • Operate all equipment in Collision Center in a safe manner
  • Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
  • Documents all work performed as soon as the job is completed
  • Uses basic mathematical skills to solve simple equations for mixing chemicals
  • Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous wastes
  • Able to perform Unibody and Frame repairs utilizing 3D lazer measuring and pulling equipment

What are the requirements for this job

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • ASE certification and I-CAR training (preferred)
  • At least five years automotive experience
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Ability to operate an automobile
